My Gettysburg Monument Project

This site will remain as an archive, but I’ve moved the “live” site to my domain name.

Please visit: https://gettysburg.thegreenheron.net/

And please update any bookmarks and links accordingly. There are updates, new features, new photos, a better and easier to use navigation scheme, etc. over at the new location!

The reason for the move was I wanted to update the site and decided to move to a self-hosted version of WordPress which allows for using different plugins, etc.

Thank you for supporting my site!

This website/blog contains over one-thousand monuments, memorials, and historical signage of the Gettysburg National Military Park. For a list of the monuments, check out the Master Index (organized by the nearest road in the park where the monument is located).

** The information about the monuments is mainly taken from the National Park Service’s database. All the photos on this website (other than historical photos or where otherwise listed) were taken by me. They are the product of over ten years worth of quarterly trips to the battlefield and countless hours spent stomping through muddy fields, poring over maps and various databases, editing, photographing, and organizing. Which is another way to say — these pictures represent a lot of work done just for the sake of a love of history and desire to pass that love on to others. **

Photo Usage Policy: If you would like to use any of the photographs on this website, you must first obtain written permission.
