43rd North Carolina Infantry

The 43rd North Carolina Infantry served in Daniel’s Brigade of Rodes’ Division of Ewell’s Corps. The regiment is honored by a monument at Gettysburg.

Location: East Confederate Avenue in woods at base of Culp’s Hill.

Description: Polished pink granite monument with bronze narrative plaque.  Commemorates action seen July 1 and 3, 1863; position of monument reflects action undertaken by the 43rd North Carolina on July 3, 1863.
