1st Ohio Artillery, Battery I (Left Stone Marker)

The 1st Ohio Artillery, Battery I served as members of Osborn’s Brigade in the Eleventh Corps of the Army of the Potomac. The regiment is honored by a monument at Gettysburg, a War Department era tablet, and two stones marking the battery’s left and right positions.

Dedicated: Sept. 14, 1887.

Location: Howard Avenue near the main monument.

Description:  Small flank style marker denotes the left of the section during the July 1st battle along Howard Avenue. Flanking markers are 1.4×1.3 foot.
